Annual Exhibition Awards 2025
The Annual Art Club Exhibition Awards celebrate the exceptional talents and creative achievements of our club members. This year's exhibition featured a diverse array of artworks, each showcasing unique styles and techniques that reflect the vibrant artistic spirit of our club.
The theme this year for the Gregor Ian Smith award was ‘Wild Life’. We are delighted to announce that the successful winner was Ida Rennie with her painting “Cheerful Kookaburra” as shown below. I am sure you will agree this was a worthy winner so well done Ida!

Seana Docherty won the Hamish Montgomery award for her mixed media picture called “Kirkintilloch Water Lillies”. The judges thought it was a “Charming diptych composition which caught our eye immediately and beautiful use of mixed media creating texture and detail.” Well done Seana!
Fiona McNeish was awarded the Millennium bowl for her picture “The Joy of Spring”. This is for the student who has made the most progress in the art classes.
The other two paintings which were chosen as ‘Highly Commended’ at the Annual Exhibition were “I Must Go Down to the Sea” by Kate Hackney and “Majestic Reflections” by Margaret Zoma…well done to both of you! Photos of all these award winners as well as some others taken will be displayed on the website in due course.
And finally…we had lots of the visitors enjoying voting for the People’s Choice favourite painting. The winner this year was Shena Pyke for her picture “Pomegranates on a Gold Dish” shown below. I am sure you will all agree that this will make a great poster for publicity for next year’s Exhibition…excellent painting by Shena!
